With more than 20 years of experience in senior-focused publishing, Betsy O’Leary is the heart behind Carolina Living Choices, Western North Carolina’s trusted guide to active adult and retirement living. As a Certified Active Adult Specialist in Housing (CAASH) and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS), Betsy brings both professional expertise and personal insight to helping older adults and their families navigate this exciting stage of life.

Her journey in publishing began with editorial roles and evolved into ownership, where she now oversees both the quarterly print magazine and a dynamic online platform. Under her leadership, Carolina Living Choices connects 55+ readers with vibrant communities, helpful resources, and inspiring stories—all in a user-friendly, beautifully designed format.

Betsy is proud to be part of the “sandwich generation,” balancing the needs of aging parents and adult children. Her personal experiences, including her mother’s move to assisted living in Hendersonville, inform her work every day. She knows firsthand how important it is to find the right place to call home—and she’s passionate about guiding others on that journey.

Sue Liebe – Office Manager, Carolina Living Choices

Sue Liebe brings warmth, organization, and a personal touch to her role as Office Manager at Carolina Living Choices. After relocating to beautiful Western North Carolina a few years ago, Sue quickly fell in love with the area’s mild weather and breathtaking mountain views.

With a strong background in office administration and customer care, she plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of CLC and helping retirees and their families feel informed and at ease during the relocation process.

Sue is married and has two grown children. She also understands the aging journey firsthand—her 92-year-old father lives out of state, and her 91-year-old mother-in-law resides in a nearby retirement community—giving her unique insight into the challenges and joys families face when planning for retirement and senior living.

Cindy Keehn – PT DPT CDP

As a Physical Therapist specializing in skilled nursing, I encountered many patients living in the various stages of dementia. It broke my heart to see so many deemed "unable to participate" with therapy services , then to watch their subsequent decline in function and quality of life.
